New Guidelines for Factory-Converted Dormitories

In positive news to the dormitory industry, the Ministry of Manpower has mandated that Factory-Converted Dormitories (FCD) will have to meet four new guidelines from 1st January 2017.

1) Providing a channel for feedback in order to allow workers to voice out their concerns about their living conditions in the FCD

2) Each worker will be provided with a personal locker

3) At least one sick bay will be allocated per FCD. Alternatively, the operator will need to come up with a plan to deal with infectious diseases.

4) There will be the provision of Wi-Fi

We are happy to see that there will be an industrial-wide push for improvement in the dormitory sector that will allow foreign workers to live in a comfortable, safe and happy environment. As always, if you have any inquiries about dormitory matters, feel free to contact us and we will try our best to assist you.
